Part of the Epilepsy Family

Lindsay is a 25 year old resident of Boca Raton, FL. She was diagnosed with epilepsy at the tender age of 20 months old.  Her mother registered with Epilepsy Alliance Florida in 2011 for guidance and support. She was provided case management services and  with the help of the resources  received, Lindsay was eventually  able to achieve seizure control following brain surgery at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. At this time she has remained seizure free for several years. Lindsay has participated in many Epilepsy Alliance Florida sponsored events such as the walk, client dinner and youth group which provided her social and recreational outings like bowling and go karts.  She also participated in Camp Boggy Creek, sponsored by Epilepsy Alliance Florida and feels especially grateful for the memories made there. Lindsay has even gone on to become a Camp Counselor to give back and support the epilepsy community. She feels that volunteering is her way to say thank you and that it helps her to feel like she is a part of something greater.  She says “I will always need Epilepsy Alliance Florida the way humans need air to breathe.” She enjoys sharing her epilepsy journey and her positive perspective helps others look up to her on their own journeys. Looking ahead, Lindsay plans to continue volunteering and helping any way that she can. She plans to remain a part of the Epilepsy Alliance Florida family for years to come.
